  I have been revisiting haunts from my sordid youth, and Country Cookin' was one that popped up on my radar recently.
  This little neighbourhood breakfast and lunch joint has been around a long time, my first visit having been around 1978.
  In those days, I worked nearby, and a friend and I used to pop in here for a late breakfast or lunch.
  I remembered it as being a bit dark and cavelike, with low ceilings and muted colours. When I walked in recently the change was notable... It is wide open, bright and airy. Lots of light through the big windows in front, and a full wall mural depicting a pastoral landscape. There are lots of little country gew gaws around the place as decoration, and one could easily feel like they were in a small town diner.
  
  The menu has changed little, being made up of standard breakfast and lunch fare, but the food is well prepared, reasonably priced and nicely presented.
  When I was first in, I had lunch, going for a Grilled Cheese sandwich with a bowl of Cream of Potato and Bacon soup. It was fine comfort food, and made me resolve to return.
  The next week, finding myself in the Wild West End agin, I popped in for breakfast, going for the ubiquitous Bacon and Eggs.
  Once again, delicious, well prepared, and generous serving.
  
  The service has been friendly and efficient both times, with different waitresses each time. This is a place that is accustomed to getting folks fed in good order and good time, and it shows.
  
  Not open for dinner, your fixes will have to be planned around breakfast or lunch.
  If you like old fashioned neighbourhood diners as much as I do, check Country Cookin' out.
  It is worth the trip, and the few dollars spent.

  If you're looking for a basic, but tasty breakfast, this is the place to go. Open bright and early in the morning, Country Cookin is your typical "coffee and newspaper" kind of place. It looks like it houses quite a few regulars, but it's definitely a gem for us. The waitress is super kind and remembers who we are, and the price is out of this world. Tasty breakfast, hot coffee, great waitress, these are all the essentials when it comes to early morning dining. We come here often (and I forget to check in most days) but it's our go-to for brekkie.

  This is a cute little breakfast/ lunch spot. With a country theme. There is a large country side mural along one of the walls.
  
  They offer typical breakfast and lunch options. The prices are very reasonable.
  
  It can be a very busy place but we have always been seated fast.

  Sparsely decorated and furnished, Country Cookin's décor is rural in theme, with a farm mural across one wall and crafts adorning various shelves along the opposite wall.
  
  Country Cookin's menu consists mostly of sections for breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees.  It contains most expected kinds of foods at very reasonable prices.  Familiar favourites include beef dip, chicken fingers, fish and chips, and burgers of various kinds.  
  
  The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch.  Try the special entree of the day, which changes regularly.  Don't leave without dessert, which is usually fresh-baked and delicious.
